Red Blinking Gyre

What would cause my pump to stop working and a red blinking light to occur on my gyre? Is this common and an easy fix?

I have had it happen a couple times on one of my fx-150s. Both times were calcium deposits on one of the bushings which caused drive shafts not to spin freely. Was easy enough to fix.

try a vinegar bath first to potentially break up anything in the pump. As you pull it out to clean it though look at the props as if any of them have chipped a blade and that catches it is enough to stop the unit.

If you have the 130 I HIGHLY recommend the new rugged props and if you have the 150 they are coming for that shortly.

When the red light happened to me was after a power outage where a dwarf cerith crawled into my pump and when it restarted it broke a blade. I swapped out the paddles and was good to go.

Are you using the foam guard on the 150? Also, do you know if the gyre extension cable can be linked together for a longer run? Thanks

I have the 130 and with the new rugged paddles I dont have to worry about my ceriths anymore. I have tried it out by putting a few in the pump with the power shot and started it up. They were pushed out of the pump similar to every other pump I have in the tank like my RW.

I do not know of the gyre extension cable being able to be linked but I imagine there woudl not be a problem. There is a Coralvue rep on here though and I would ask him in the forum to be sure.

Paddles look fine. Now that I've taken it apart and put back together the red light is gone but no spinning paddles.
