Red Bristle Worms??

I noticed that my fuge is getting a number of small (mabey 1/4 in.) red bristle worms. I have not seen any in the tank. So are they ok to leave in the fuge?? I have read threads here that these little bristle worms if in the tank are a nightmare to deal with. So if they are multiplying in my fuge is my tank already infected??? Thanks..

It is jmo that Bristle worms are beneficial to any tank. I have them in both my 29g and 55g and had them in my old 90g as well. I would not be concerned about them unless they grow to the size of a foot or two. I know a number of other reefer's here on this site that have them as well.

I personally leave them in my tank. I think that they're beneficial to the sand bed and also kind of work as a cleanup crew.

I agree. Unless they get to be huge they aren't a problem. And are probably more beneficial than not. Check out the inverts forum and you'll know what I mean about huge bristleworms. :)

Do the red ones eat xenia? I had a large rock with Xenia covering it. The xenia slowly melted away and after a few weeks I noticed a red bristle worm about 1 - 1 1/2 inches long. Could he have eaten my Xenia? If so, I have to catch him.
