Red bug treatment and bryopsis outbreaks?

I have recently had a major bryopsis outbreak. I did the three week treatment for red bugs and completed it on Jan 6th. Up tot hat point and for two weeks after, I didn't have a spot of bryopsis. Over the last three weeks, it has gotten out of control. Is it possible that I killed something in the treatment that was controlling/eliminating an outbreak? I have a puny skimmer (Berlin Turbo HOB), but the tank (125) has been running for two years now without any algae other than the cursed razor caulerpa. I can take care of the razor caulerpa through natural means, but can't seem to get a handle on the bryopsis (caulerpa came in on some cheap rock I got about a year ago). Anyone else had this issue? I had a cyano outbreak after the red bug treatments, but then got whammied with the bryopsis. Nothing else changed in the system over this time. I have an MRC MR2 ready to hook up when I get the pump...

Get it hooked up asap! Also step up some water changes. Its common to have outbreaks afterwards but usually the cyano. The treatment generally knocks your system oput of balance but it will be short lived. The water changes help speed up the process.

Thanks guys. I'm upping water changes to at least weekly (from bi weekly), so hopefully, that'll help get it under control. With any luck, my PCX 55 will be here early this week... I just realized there is a detritus pile in my sump, too, so that gets cleaned out today.
