Red Bugs and Interceptor?

I have made up my mind that I am going to treat my entire tank and sump with Interceptor sometime real soon. I have some red bugs on a few of my acros.
I know that it will kill crabs, shrimp, and pods. However, what about snails and nems? Should I remove them before treatment as well? Also, should I be worried if I miss a few hermits, and they end up getting killed, or will a good repetitive 20% water change take care of that?

Thanks for any help.

Have you tried Coral-RX? I think that takes care of Red Bugs... you should try dipping it in that first and see if they rid them from your tank, don't want you to kill all your inverts with interceptor....

Unfortunately, I would have to completely tear down all my rock work in order to dip all the corals. I have used a coral dip on the ones that I could, but I still can't seem to rid my system of them completely.

interceptor won't hurt a thing except your crabs. Easy to dose and will kill all your red bugs. Your nems and snails will be fine. I didn't have a lot of pod die off in my tank. They were out during the entire process and didn't seem bothered. Your crabs will start to act drunk...they will fall off rocks and walk in circles and die. All my blue legged crabs died but the red ones lived. There are some good articles out there for dosage and time. I dosed mine and let it sit for 9 hrs or so. Ran carbon and changed out 20% water after and things were find, corals didn't show any side affect from interceptor.

Good luck!

i agree with JAustin.i have known several people who dosed interceptor and all had very similar results.good luck

Good deal. Thank you for the inputs. I feel pretty confident in this now. I have a little QT tank that I can put my cleaner shrimp and hermits for a couple weeks while I dose the DT so I should be good to go on them.

Thanks Again

i only did one treatment....no red bugs anymore. I think it's overkill to do 3 treatments IMO. If you treat it once, give it 8-10 hrs, then water change and carbon and add your animals the next day...done. Red bugs, dead.
