Red bugs! This sucks!!!!

interceptor worked great for the redbug problem I had but in the long run it ended up destroying my mature reef tank.

The interceptor killed all the worms that were in my liverock and that caused a continious phosphate problem. Hair algae took over and killed all my corals. After fighting algae for a year with huge water changes, large amounts of GFO and lanthanam I ended up bleaching and acid washing 200 lbs of rock and starting over.

It hasn't been a fun process but my system is finally ready for corals after a year long maturing process for the tank.

Wow, has anyone else ran into this after treating for red bugs?

I dont have many worms in my tank and I dont have algae problems. I dont think this happens to often after red bug treatment...

I just did my treatment with a 1/4 of a pill and I did it over night for about 12 hours. This is not the recommended protocol but something came up and I was unable to do the water change as planned. After 12 hours not one redbug remained on a few of my heavily infested colonies. lost a few hermits that i could not recover. so far no negative effects on anything else, but I now have great polyp extension on my sps that was infected.
