Red Bugs

I'm planning on taking my acropora out of my main tank and dose them with Interceptor in my quarantine tank. How long can red bugs survive in my main without any smooth skinned acros to munch on?

its ANY acros. they just prefer and go after the smooth skinned ones first. If you leave any others or pieces of the ones you are removing behind bugs can and will remain

Dosing the tank and just getting it over with is much safer on the corals than moving them, as well as much easier to truly just be done with them

i would does the display tank so you can get all of them . adding certain wrasses will also keep them in check as its an ongoing situation .

just dose the whole tank. I treated mine on Saturday, and by Sunday they were all gone. But I am going dose 2 more time just to be sure. Ppl say it kills shrimp but i had one that I couldn't catch and he's doin good. good luck

One Salifert spoon of crushed Interceptor was sufficient to wipe out the red bugs in my 30 gallon (+/-) system. One treatment.

I used 2- 5.75mg pills for my 140g. I crused them up them soaked the powder in tank water for about 5 min, turned off the air for my skimmer. Then dumped the solution into my tank.

acro crabs seem to not tolerate red bugs. if you can get some from your lfs for your bigger colonies. Of course this wont help small colonies or frags
