Red carpet anemone!

I've been waiting forever to get a carpet anemone and finally found a blue a few months ago that never acclimated and died.

Of course, Jeff at Coral Reef Farm came thru HUGE for me and got me this SWEET red carpet!!! It's so bright it's actually more fluorescent hot pink than red:eek1: I haven't seen a ton of red's in person but this is by far the brightest. Mouth was nice and tight, VERY sticky and seems to have acclimated well. It's only about the size of a bread plate, maybe 6' across which is exactly what i wanted.

Heres some pics. Again, huge props to Jeff at CRF for this AMAZING specimen!

Very nice piece. Jeff's always got really great corals and inverts, but man that thing is a beauty...

Got anyone to host it yet?

I have 2 false perc's that i got when i bought the blue a few months back. I just put the carpet in about 6 hours ago but so far, the percs are avoiding it like the PLAGUE! lol

Hopefully, they will wise up and realize the SICK crib that i bought them and move in,lol:cool:

Congrats funk! she looks sweet and the mushroom frag you gave me about 3 weeks ago is now fully grown into a nice red/purple shroom about half dollar size...thanks

that is gorgeous! do they move around a lot?? i havent had much success with keeping bta's but have been thinking about a red or blue carpet for one of the last pieces of real estate in my tank.

They usually don't move around as much as bta, the problem with the carpets though is they have a really.... really... nasty sting.. and can catch/kill/eat fish in the tank.

either way, it's a gorgeous nem !

I walked in to jeffs/daves as you walked out. He was still talking about how nice that nem was.

Lol, i finally beat you to the punch there! I'm still thinking about those insane blastos you got there a few months ago that i missed out on.

Hopefully, this one will be healthy unlike my failed attempt last month with the blue gigantea. He seems very healthy and happy. He has dug his foot in the sand, is VERY sticky and stayed fully inflated all day and night. Either today or tomorrow i will try and feed him a little bit of fish.

ghstrider- glad to hear the shroom filled out for you. They are pretty nice and easy tofrag.

p.s.- Coral Reef Farm's adress is 2848 Stirling Road, Suite D, Hollywood , 954-929-4544. They are right off of Stirling and I-95, a little hard to find but DEFINITELY worth finding.

Awesome carpet.I've wanted a red Haddoni for ages, but have pretty much run out of room(& just can't bring myself to spend that much).I have a neon green & a blue Haddoni, they have both took out some good sized fish in the past, but so far I've found that adding moonlights to the tank, has put an end to any fish being eaten. If you don't already have moonlights,I would suggest adding a couple,it may prevent a fish swimming into the carpet after lights out.Best of luck with your new addition.
