Hello, this anemone was sold to me as a red carpet anemone, Stichodactyla Kenti. I can only find the name Stoichactis kenti, and not much info on that. Can anyone here give me a proper id? Thanks for the help.

Whatever the real name is, I know one thing, it is BRIGHT intense red!!

That's one of those "Bali blood red carpet" anemones. Could be part of S. Tapetum. But they aren't a hosting carpet and they stay small and divide like a BTA. Much more common than say a red haddoni and fetch a lower price.

I don't think that's a mini maxi otherwise if it is it's a very rare one.

These are not rare, but are actually quite common these days. Regarding ID, for now I think it's safe to say they're S. tapetum because they have characteristics of the species -- namely the pointed outer tentacles. I believe they could be a separate species, but until this is declared by the scientific community, I'm going to call them S. tapetum.

Is an S. Tapetum considered a carpet?
