is there a such thing as red colored coralline?

if not, im having an outbreak of something bad

I am getting a lot of what appears to be red coralline on my rocks

I have had multiple colors in the past, red, green orange, purple and a few shades of yellow. High light wipes most of it out except the light purple and some of the orange. I have some really cool looking orange at the moment but directly under the 250 watt 10K XDE no coraline will grow.

In a group buy a few years ago I got some Eva rock from Phishy and it was covered in the most wonderful coraline of many different colors. Most of that is now gone. :-(

FWIW the color temp of the bulb has little to do with it, it is the intensity that matters. 10K bulbs usually have a higher PAR directly under the bulb. I grew coraline great under 10K T5's and watched it die off under 10K halides, it wasn't the color temp of the bulb but the intensity. Coraline grows better under the 150's than the 250.

I have 6 x 24w T5s and the bulbs are probably ready to be replaced

it was pretty sudden...I have a lot of purple already in there, so this is definitely differently colored

oh well...I was just hoping it wasnt cyano (which Im prety sure its not)

ha we just had this conversation today.

there is red coraline... and yellow coraline too apparently

edit: o yea... someone who is good with photobucket, can you please take the word BEER out of geox's picture and put it on my chest in my little picture please?
