Red Doreensis

The largest Doreensis I've ever kept was only about 8-9 inches in diameter. I cannot imagine a 12-15 inch red Doreensis! That will be stunning!

That's absolutely stunning Minh! Thanks for all the info you've given to the community and sharing this beauty with us.

Blue Zoo Aquatic had this LTA for sale. Someone got it. I wonder what he look like in a reefer's tank. If somebody here got this anemone, I would love to see a picture of him.

Same here. What were the asking for it? Last Red LTA I saw for sale was a Diver's Den and IIRC, they wanted $699 for it. It was a beautiful anemone, but out of my price range.

After almost 2 months, I am happy to report that my Red Doreensis is doing well. I am not feeding him as much as I should because I just don't have room for a large Red Doreensis right now.
Here he is in my refugium (used to be a frag tank but now just a refugium).

i am seriously getting a LTA when my tank is ready :).
Minh, how deep is your sand bed, mine is around 1.5in, think I will have to make deeper when the time comes.
Would treatment regime be same as for the larger anemone if required. I am starting to do serious research into Doreensis but not finding much at the moment.

In the refugium, the fine sand bed is around 3-4 inches. While this is adequate, they seem to like deeper.

They don't like much current. If I increase current, he move. My tank is such a high flow tank that Haddoni and Doreensis don't really like it there. I only have the Red Haddoni in the tank. He is in a low flow area, which is hard to find in my tank. I have to move the Blue and Green Haddoni due to current issue. They are in the refugium also.
I also have three Malu in the refugium. I am feeding them trying to get them to spawn. I have it set up such that if they spawn, there is good chance that I can keep the babies from been chew up by the filtration system. Will see.

I can't see your picture Minh

For my tank I am considering "making" a deeper area for the Doreensis to reside.
Happy with not having to increase flow greatly to make the anemone comfortable.
I really like the red you have, not seen any over here and seems for beginners, the BTA is the nem of choice.

LTA is not really hard anemone to keep, although all the anemones need good stable water. I never able to predict how BTA move so have not really try to keep BTA too much, but keep them long term in the past, just not now. One Host anemone speces I have not keep much is the H. crispa

My first anemone was a crispa. An obiosuly bleached white one with purple tips. Kept it in a jbj 24gallon nanocube under CFL's. Was small enough to sit inside a coffee cup. Ended up being the size of a dinner plate and took up the whole tank. If my newbie self could keep it they must be pretty durable besides their insane bleaching during shipping.

That anemone just keeps getting better looking every time you post pictures of it Minh!

Have you thought about setting up a display tank for it with it and some sand bed dwelling critters?
