red dragon on alpha 200 surging

I have this running in about 8-9" of water in it's own chamber. I've noticed this since I got it, but attributed it breaking being a new skimmer.

What it does is when watching the output, you will see it kind of alternating between pushing out puffs of water with the air mixed in. Kind of like it's not starting up correctly.
As far as I can tell, the pump runs the whole time so it's not an on/off surge.

I've adjusted the water level all over to try and get a steady output, but so far no luck.

Does anyone have some suggestions of what to try next.

How old is the skimmer? Can you please post some photos, or even better yet a quick video of the surging if you have the capability.

The skimmer is 1 month old. Got it from you guys during the 10% off sale.

Well here is something interesting, I was playing around with the plugs. And when I had the skimmer turned on and my return off, it worked like it should.
As soon as I plug the return pump (mag 7) in, it starts surging again.

I currently have it on just a plain power strip, as I'm working on setting my Apex up.

Your voltage being supplied to the pump is varying then. You'll have to come up with a means of getting the electrical fixed so that 110v - 120v is being supplied.
