cool critters and nice images. Still think it is a great place to try some focus stacking to improve the DOF. Have you tried it at all?

I havent tried this yet and Im not exactly sure how to the do it. but I've seen the results and its spectacular!

unfortunately the little buggers dont really stay still for very long while they are awake (usually with the lights on they are looking for a place to sleep )

Amazing shots, those things almost look CG!

tough if they move a lot. I think there was actually just athread posted here recently about how to do it. There is some free software to help with it. I've never done it yet but I am looking to try it soon. BAsically take shots with different aspects in focus (eyes forst say, and then a foot that was out of the DOF next) then merge them creating a shot with more in focus and a deeper DOF than possible in reality.

I hope you get to see these guys in the wild. Two summers ago I was in Costa Rica when a huge storm ended a "drought" in the rainforest and they were spawning en masse - truly a spectacular sight (and sound)!
