Is this a "Red Foot Snail"? I have read they may need lower temps. Am I going to have problems?

Yes, they appear to be the red-collared/footed snails that are from California (IIRC) waters. In which case, they will require water that is 68 degrees. And, if memory serves, they eat algae films that grow on kelp (or the kelp itself) -- I think they are pretty dependent on the kelp beds in some way.
