Atlantis has a red fungia. Initially, I thought it was $500 for the entire coral. They want $500 for an inch frag and you have to be on a waiting list? Come on dude...are these guys on cr@ck?

I know these are a rare morph but $500 for an inch frag? Please.

I have seen 2 at the LFS in the last 4 mths or so.. they are worth NO WHERE NEAR $500!

Heck, Fungias dont frag very well anyway.. I would be afraid of buying a frag...
can you say...Brown Jelly Infection???

I totally agree. I wonder how much Atlantis paid for the whole frag before they sliced and diced....I bet no where even near their asking price for a frag. It's funny how I can go to a LFS and find the same stuff Atlantis has and for alot cheaper...

They also have a 3 1/2" fungia thats the brightest orange I have ever seen on the same page for $80. I know the orange is no where near as rare, but I'd take it and $420 over the red frag.

I understand there is a need to make profit. As if the prices aren't marked up enough in this hobby. But there is a difference between profit and extreme greed.

what is the website for Atlantis? sorry if it is a stupid question, i just cant find it.

Never mind i just found it

Yeah I got excited until I saw it was a frag and not the whole thing. No way and I'd love a red plate, it's one of my top wanted, still not worth that much to me.

If only they had a better pic...I've seen quite a few red(ish) plates and I have one of my own, but I assure you the one that ATL has trumps them all. They've had other red fungias in the past that look nothing like this one, and so they were much cheaper. Their frags aren't even much smaller than many other red plates I've seen for a comparable cost.
But whatever; there will always be people that'll complain about a big pricetag no matter what coral it's on.

What is the point of starting threads like this anyways? If you're serious about those questions, then I'd say no they're not on "cr@ck" and yes the cost for a frag is $500.

Apparently they are...
I think that whole site is insain.. please, 80 bucks for a tiny 1/8th inch frag of acro!... haha!!! I dont care even if its LE... Im not paying that plus shipping to have some tiny piece of "rare" coral.
But thats just my opinion, and everyone is free to their own..

Just remember about opinions... Everyone has one... and like armpits... most stink! haha :)

Viper is just saying that, a company is free to charge whatever price they wish for the product they are carrying... Its up to the consumer to show the company what the market prevailing price is.

Uhh, where are you seeing 1/8 of an inch of anything for 80 dollars? The smallest frag I see is 1/2 inch. Stop exaggerating.

What do you mean by that exact piece? Are you saying you think ATL bought it from Clint and fragged it up?

That's what I'm wondering? Either way the price difference is way off!

Anyways $500 for a 1 inch frag, is a complete joke. I'm thinking the people that defend these insane prices must have a ton of cash to blow around.

I forgot Phishybusiness had one also for $500, so maybe atlantis bought from the same supplier that the others did?
