Red Furry Algea

This is the type of algea that grows in the cheato, somehow it got into my tank and now it is growing all over my LR. What can i get that will eat it? I have some snails coming in tomarrow, 100 astreas, 24 cerith. any other suggestions? Im was going to get a foxface but ive been hearing some stories about them, so ill probably be buying an achilis tang, anything helps thanks!

If it is what I think it is, I had it too. XLRG mexican turbo snails did the trick in about a month. You also have to make sure you have your nutrients under control. Phos media, RO/DI water, lights ... all that jazz.

also, syphon out as much as you can what you do water changes. Warning, it stinks somthing feirce.

Yep..I had it too..Red Cotton Algae. Added 25 Mexican Turbo Snail and it looked like a new tank in 4 days.

Yes Mexican Turbos are the only snails that eat it and they do as if it was candy. 25 turbos are too many, one for every 10 gallons shall be more than enough, the tank will be clean in a week or two.

Believe me, 25 is not to many when you have several tanks with the same problem. I also upgraded my ro to ro/di from the Filter Guys.
