Red Goniopora

Hello everyone, I was at the LFS and I saw a beautiful red Goniopora. I have heard numerous times that flowerpot corals are impossible to keep. However, I have also heard that Red Goniopora is easier to keep. Has anyone had any success with these corals? What are your methods to keep them alive. Anyone have any pictures?

A friend has had one for close to 5 years. Swears that the "red" has the best survivability. Not sure on feeding.

I have one in my 60 gallon cube and although it is relatively new, it has been doing really well, even showing growth over the past month, as it is the encrusting type.

There has to be someone out there with some more information than this. I really want this coral to be successful but I need some help.

I have had a red Goni for more than a year now, I do not feed it, its in the middle of the tank under 6 T5's, has survived several attacks from neighboring corals. So far it has been very easy to keep, but like I said I never feed it directly but dose, Prodibio reefbooster coral food, Zeovit Spongepower and Coral Vite every week. These are liquid foods so maybe its feeding off those.

Sounds like you want the "quick fix info" .....do some reading at www.goniopora.org. Good luck they are wonderful specimens.
