Guys, I just picked up 2 red head wrasse from the LFS. They are truly amazing...super bright red head, geen body and blue tail. Does anyone have experience with them?

Stefania has a pair of them....look in topic of Halichoeres...show some love...
Very difficult fish in acclimatisation...once settled will be OK...

I have a male. Not really any different to keep than any other Halichoeres but they can be hard to get to eat at first. If yours are eating you should be good. I also like to say that they suffer from the "big fish - small mouth syndrome" meaning feed them often as they dont eat very large pieces of food. FYI: Mine goes to bed hours before all the lights go out. The first set of light turn off and he's gone until morning.

Yeah, 2 males....they are actually non aggressive and currently sharing QT with other smaller fish such as cave basslet, eightline flasher and flame wrasse...I was going to get a third one today, as their coloration is just too amazing that really put other fishes down. However, they got sold out right away....ugh. I just fed them, both are very active now....definitely get a third one when it is available.

Two males in the same aquarium is asking for trouble....unless you have a very large aquarium. 3 males wont work.

Where are you located, Ive had a hard time comming across any here in Miami, Florida.

Zoasman,
Congratulations! They are beautiful wrasses. They are difficult to initially acclimate but once settled in they're no more difficult than any other Halichoeres sp. wrasse. I just obtained a male recently and he was initially shy but is now right in there feeding with the rest of the fish. Feed them frequently until they are fully acclimated. Good luck with your two males.
