Hello ReefJunkies just as a start Linkia star fish have always done well in my tank for some reason that reason remains unknown. This success has been limited to the red variety.
Now thats out of the way I wanted to share with you a very interesting observation of mine. One of my Acan Lords had one of its polyps rtn(or was it???) halfway.
So I did what any reefer would do and test my parameters I noticed my alk to be a bit higher than norm about .5 higher. I did a water change the day before and attributed the higher level to this. All of the other corals/inverts were doing fine including other acan lords right next to this one. So being the curious reefer I am I checked my Dropcam(Internet based camera that constantly streams and stores up to ten days of footage) going back yesterday everything was fine. So i moved on up until I noticed something interesting my linkia star was latched to the acan in the same spot where the half of the polyp had rtn'd or so I thought. Moving along with the footage the star seemed to stay in that spot for an unusual amount of time and after that time had elapsed HALF OF THE POLYP was gone!!! This suprised me I had never observed this before until now. Ill try to post some pics or maybe some footage help with posting the footage would be greatly appreciated! Anyways if you or others have had this experience let me know!
