i went to my lfs to see there mandarins. i was horrified to see how skinny and terrible look they where. i think im going to get a sixline wrasse instead. i cant stand to even think about starving these guys a little. they are so beautfiful it should be against the law to starve such people. they should make the mandarin police instead of the tang police. thx for all your help guys but i will try a mandarin later in my life, not now

yeah...if you can try to get a "used" mandarin.....if someone is taking a tank down or something

Do not underestimate a mandarin's diet. I had one starve to death in a 215 gallon tank after 3 years. They require a lot of pods. My refugium was bigger than most tanks listed here and I still couldn't maintain a sufficient population of pods.
