Can anyone tell me about red pistol shrimp. Are they reef safe? Thank you for the help

have any pictures? Pistol shrimp are reef safe, however they can at times move things around, including snails if the pistol is large enough. They won't kill the snail, but try to use it for their burrow. I'm thinking the pistol you're referring to is a non-symbiotic pistol (won't pair up with a goby), but it's hard to say without a picture.

There are probably many types of red pistol shrimp.
One type is Alpheus armatus from the Caribbean. They are reef safe, but dig like crazy. They live in pairs with the curlyque anemone, but can survive without it.
