red sea max as a sea horse tank

so my first tank was a 34 gallon red sea max and have sense upgraded to a 120 but i would like to make my red sea max a species only tank and want to get some info on sea horses

the tank would be stocked with various macro algae and such to help with pod production and maybe some with nutrient removal.

i understand that the main problem with sea horses is temperature and while the tank is cycling i would moniter it to ensure that is stays at 74 degrees or less

any other things i should worry about or know about before i get started

There are some mods you can make to help keep the temp down. IIRC there is room in the back chamber for a nano chiller as well.

I have seen a few people make it work.

IME macro's are pretty good at nutrient removal but pick your species carefully unless you don't mind pruining often. Some macro's are less invasive then others. I kinda don't mind pruining so I keep quite a few algaes.

i use seagrass for my nutrient removal, sh's seem more active at lower temps, i try to keep mine around 74-76 degree's, a fan will help with that
