After having my red sea max 250 for only a week, I walked away with the hood all the way up, but not far enough to stay. It came crashing down full force onto my tank. LUCKILY the only thing I lost were the plastic hinges there were set in the locked position (probably slowed the fall).
Completely my fault.
Red Sea Max is going to over night me a new set of hinges, anyway.
Can you imagine the sinking feeling you get when you see your new $1600 aquarium smashed into buy a heavy hood followed by the sound of broken pieces scattering across the floor...
