red sea max

Hello. I have one that I purchased about a week ago. First of all I'll tell you that I'm modifling it from it's origional configuration. The tank itself is 29 gallons and the area behind the tank is 5 gallons. That is where the pumps, heater and skimmer reside.

I installed a CPR overflow box in that area and will house all of the equipment in a sump/refugium in the stand below the tank. It's a custom built sump/refugium that is kind of unique. I'll post pics of it soon. I also added a UV sterilizer as well. Depending on the tank temp throughout the year, I may add a chiller.

As for the Red Sea Max. All I can say is quality. It's VERY sturdy and feels like a lot of research went into it. Nothing on it seems flimsy. the glass is thick and has rounded corners. The lighting is T5 and has built in moon lights with timers for all of the lighting. The all in one power center is very nice too. The matching stand is not real wood, but it's heavy as hell and is VERY sturdy. When I put the stand togehter, I used wood glue to ensure it will never come apart. The tank looks very nice with it's companion stand.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'll post some pics soon........
