Ok so I just picked up one of ORA's Mimics from my LFS. Been waiting for this fish for what seems like forever. He is every bit of cool I thought he could be. Unfortunately because of his rarity I am finding it hard to locate much information about them. I am looking for anything on the care of these cool little guys. I got a cluster of barnacles for him to live in and he is in and out of them all day, very active.
Does anyone have one of these? Anyone care to share any stories, pictures, experiences with them - good or bad? I have a Starry Blenny as well and they are getting along just fine, The Starry noticed his presence from across the tank and came over to investigate. Laying his body stretched out over the entrances to the Mimics barnacles. The Mimic did not appreciate this, and sort of scooched the Starry's tail over in order to get is little #### in one of his barnacles. Other than that encounter they pretty much ignore each other. I thought the Mimic was going to be held up in his barnacle all day with only a little blue head popping out, which would have been fine with me cause he's so darn cute. But actually this fish is quite active and brave. He has no problem getting up close and personal with all my other livestock. His guy is curious like a cat but with balls of steel, even with is diminutive size. Have not seen him be scared of much. A lot of this behavior can probably be attributed to the fact he has never actually been on an actual reef, but I would like to think its just the marked behavior of his species. Anyone else's Mimic this way?
