Red Sea or Pacific

Its been asked before, searched the tread but still cant get a positive id. I need more opinions. Its been sold to me a Red Sea Sailfin what do you think?

Its really tiny just an inch across.

But looking at the Live Aquaria website i'm gonna say Sailfin tang... Zebrasoma veliferum

yeah, its hard to tell especially this size. I am not able to distinguish between the tails as the both have the same color as juveniles. The head doesn't show any spots yet so cant judge by that.

Pacific, red será usually more round fins and more golden stripes

Is there really any way to tell on a 1" individual? I would think price would be a clue. Tiny Pacific sailfins are dirt cheap...

For sure. Red Sea, at the moment at least, is relatively expensive.

too small to tell right now. But probably a pacific. The red sea's aren't that expensive right now. Atleast in Cali or Az.... The desjardini's are cheaper than Purple Tangs... I picked up a 1.5" Desjradini from Vivid.

I picked it up for about $50 so not sure if that's cheap or not.

I'd say that's too expensive to be a Pacific sailfin.
