red sea prizm set up

ok well i just got my used red sea prizm in, (i know there not the best but it was a killer deal and figured it work for a while) but neway im having trouble setting this one up, when i go to prime it, it works just fine and draws plenty of water but as soon as i let the air hose touch air (as in when it says to switch it to the hose barb) it instantly loses its water suction, any ideas?

sorry i feel really stupid now but the guy that sold it to me didnt have the air tubing that goes down the inlet pipe and i didn't see that in the instructions so it didnt quite make sense at first and just took me a little while to figure it out.

I hope you have good luck with this skimmer. What size tank are you putting it on? I had it on a 20 and thought it was ok, but i could've used more skimming. I wouldn't recommend using it on anything larger than 30gal. It's very sensative to water level changes also
