Red Sea Sailfin and regular sailfin in the same tank? Will they get a long?

Well, reefs 2 go just messed up my order that I changed and sent a red sea sailfin. I already have a sailfin. The tank is 300 gallons. Will they get a long or is this a losing battle? I have a blond naso and powder blue also.

Let me know what you guys and gals think.

i think it depends on how big this newcomer is, unless he is much bigger, the existing pbt and sailfin will all want to teach him some lessons, and it should settle after a while.

when i added the 2nd yellow tang(much smaller) the smaller newcomer was actually chasing the older bigger one. 2-3 weeks later all happy family.

I don't know that you can compare sailfins to yellows just due to the size difference as adults. I honestly don't think the existing sailfin will tolerate the newcomer, but that's just my opinion. If they do get along at first they may start to fight more as they grow larger.

They are about the same size. The existing sailfin tang has been in my tank for about a month. He is pals with the naso. The Red Sea sailfin is in qt right now. He might be a tad bigger. The powder blue is much smaller.

I'm wondering if I should even try it. Reefs 2 go was supposed to cancel the sailfin because I already got one.

I'd say it's risky business. Just gotta think how fun it would be to try and catch a sailfin in a 300 if it didn't work out.

That's what I keep thinking about. I would rather have the Red Sea instead. So I might have to catch the other one in the 300 anyway. :headwallblue:

Haha good luck to you. Good choice with the red sea sailfin instead, they are quite beautiful when adults. Also I find you sig hilarious, it's literally me every single night.
