Red Sea Test Kits

Just bought all new Red Sea test kits to replace the API test that I had used up. Any tips or tricks I should know before I start using them? They look more advanced than the API kits I am used too. Got the following kits

Calcium
Alkalinity
Mag
Nitrate
Phosphate

Thanks everyone!!

I went to their YouTube page when I first switched. There are some nice videos that show the color change when titrating and when to stop.

I use a Hana for Po4, and API for No3, everything else is RS... Love 'em. Plus instead of buying a whole new test kit you can get the refills for less than $20.

Which checker did you get for the PO4? The ultra low? I haven't broken down and bought one yet.

I got the standard one. Not sure I care about the ULR, these are just references to what is in our tank. If it's less than 0 thats ok, I know it's still there.

Used them for the first time last night. I like them a lot. The phosphate one is really tough to read IMO though. Hard to tell the actual color. All and all a good investment!

That seems to be how all the PO4 ones are. That's why you see so many people get the Hanna checkers.

For what it's worth, I had the standard Hana Po4 and then went with the ULR as it is arguably a bit more accurate.

BTW, for those that haven't seen them, here are the test kit organizers that mpgrant77 printed for me. They're an awesome alternative to the boxes that the kits come in.

In all the videos I have watched everyone puts their tank water in a glass beaker. Anyone know where I can buy some of these locally? Not that important I know, I just think it looks cool lol. Thanks

My biggest problem with the RS test kits is all my 1mL syringe has the measurements worn off. So I have to guestimate when making sure I have a full syringe.
