So I have a 75 gallon tank that's been running for 5 months that I'm trying to make into a reef tank, and I just got over a severe red slime algae infestation where 90% of the substrate was covered in a thick layer and most of the rockwork too.
I ended up loosing 3 astrea snails and maybe 2 peppermint shrimp (I saw one go into the rockwork a month ago and haven't seen him since then). I now have 1 red firefish, 1 ocellaris clownfish, 1 yellow tang, 1 engineer goby, 1 black longspine urchin, 1 remaining astrea snail, and 3-4 tiny cleaner hermit crabs.
I'm now wondering where to go from here to prevent this from happening again and any recommendations about if I'm doing something wrong.
pH:8.4 Ammonia:0ppm Nitrite:0ppm Nitrate:5ppm Calcium:260ppm
