Red stuff on my Chaeto

Guys, i don't know why my chaeto has the red firm look like red slime on it. What is going on? Too much light? Please help? What can i do to fix this problem?

Mine just comes and goes, nothing to worry about.

i had this happen wile my tank was still maturing. it's cyano algae and it only grows in low flow areas. try moving it to a differant location with faster flow, check you nutrient levels, and your light bulbs.

Increase flow and give the chaet a good rinse in a bucket to shake out any debris. Cyano is often a result of increased organic's, as well as being more common in low flow areas.

Thank you all, i just shake them up pretty good also adding a few powerhead for circulation. I use 3 flood light in my 4x4 bin. I notice the bottom layer seem to be healthier.
