Hey I have a relatively new saltwater tank and here lately all my zoanthids have closed nothing else just them and amongst one of the colonys is a hard red tube with a lil crittter liveing in it or thats what it looks like. Im sorry I cannot give my water parameters as I dont own a test kit yet. But my star polyps, hammer, trumpet, and various mushrooms are doing just fine infact thriving and growing like crazy.

It kinda looks like a weird crab it woult come out of the tub I tryed pokeing it with a pipet to see if it was just gunk and it climed back where it was after about 10 minutes

I looked up pictures and no thats not it. And I dont think its my water i have a frag with zoas and Yellow Star Polyps on it and the zoas arnt open but the yellows are. And multiple frags else where. I have tryed moveing them to higher and lower flow. Higher and lower tank. More and less light. Like I said no other coral cares there doing great.

You could try putting a giant dab of super glue gel over the opening. This will seal it shut and cause the worm to die.

The snail itself? Once you seal that tube shut the snail is not going to be much of anything anymore. One dead snail is not going to foul the water up either.

Okay thanks for the help I sadly dont have super glue could I posablely brake open the tube in a separate container and put a hermit crab with it?

Vermitid snail? They can irritate corals.
+1 on the vermitid. I had one come with a small zoa colony. Its Web would irritate near by coral and cause them to close. So I just popped it off with a knife and put it in the trash. Problem solved.

Good news!! Thanks so much for the help is there any way to prevent this in the future. I even got new zoas and LR to celebrate.
