Is there such a thing as red valonia?. In my mud refugium( after most of the caleurpa crashed) there has been a slow take over by elongaged, red, bubble-like algae. They sprout up all over the mud and are filling in the surface.They are not connected by any stem. At on point they appear to have taken over a piece of surviving caleurpa, even encrusting the stem in a red color. Should I rip this all out? I cetainly don't want it spreading to the live rock in the main tank. THanks for your input.:rolleye1:
