RED WARATAH, Actinia tenebrosa

Not me, but have seen a few people post in here that they keep them. :)

I'd like to try some one day too, what wicked red colour they tend to have.

I have one now for about 5 months, it is a very aggressive eater, just waiting for it to spit out some little ones.Water temp is 78 to 80 and is approx the size of a nickel.Mine is not as red a pics show but is a dark color pink.

i believe they are a cold water species, and while they may be kept at the temps of our reef tanks, they do better in there normal cooler water..

Ive had one for... uh, I donno 4 months maybe.

good points: it opens up when i feed the tank everyday
never wandered much.
kept its beautiful color...

bad point??

I have FOUR babies already, and they are small and are located in spots where i cant reach them or feed them

shoot me a pm lets talk lol

oh mine are kept in an 81 degree tank.

not sure if its stress that i have babies or if its happy. but its pretty neat. they spit them out of theyre mouth.. (the babies)

They are not like btas, that when stressed they produce.I noticed that also, they are closed until food is in the tank it opens up to feed.I feed mine 3 times a week.Just wished it would brightin up. It is the same color as when i recieved it.What lights are you running on your waratah. I am currently running 2 150s 14k, and the anemone is in the shade.

snakeman- I have 2 250mh's (20k) and 2 actinic t5's over a 90

the waratah picked the highest rock in the tank too. (the babies didnot)
