Redbug dilemma

So I recently acquired redbugs. I have the interceptor to dose them once. Since I just started a new pest free system I thought about moving all of my afflicted acros there because I am afraid to nuke my older system and kill tons of crabs and cleaner shrimp and thus fowling the system.

I don't how long their life cycle is either.

Any thoughts?

I wouldnt recomend treating the acro's in another tank If you intend to reintroduce acro's in the tank. It would only tank a few to be on some surounding rocks to repopulate and still be a problem.

When i treated my tank w/ interceptor i didnt notice any hermits die, i didnt have any shrimp. I will also say i did follow the doseing instructions too.

You could always remove as many hermits as you can and return them after a couple WC and some carbon being run.

I have a lot of hermit crabs and about 5 cleaning shrimp. I guess I should prepare for several large water changes.

My vet made a print out of how much to dose how long to wait before doing water changes and what % of WC were recommended. It was very helpful ill look for it tonight.

I did my whole tank. I talked to a guy in town that had them also and he told me they are not egg layers and have about a 5 day period that you would have to keep the corals in hospital tank for. He said this worked for him, he treated 1 time. I did my tank 3 times and don't care if 1 would have worked, better safe than sorry.

Did you lose any other livestock? Did follow up with any water changes?

Yea there's a vet at my vets... who's treats exotic animals and prescribes inter. to,many reefers in the area. She gets her info from some online forum for specialty vets.

I lost my acro crab but knew that before hand, no where to put it. I have snails that are fine still see pods and everything else that was in there before. I did a wc of 8 gal on a 125 the first time, the other 2 just ran carbon and disconected air for skimmer, the skimmer air was disconected all 3 times. From what I read the med doesn't do anything after 24 hrs.
