Redbug treatment question?

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be treating my tank with Interceptor in the upcoming days and was wondering if anyone has NOT done a water change following an Interceptor treatment? Want to hear people's experiences.

I've always done water changes following a treatment, but the treatment in general seems rather gentle and was wondering if you could just leave it in the tank? Does anyone know the half-life on the drug? Once you turn your skimmer back on it may just skim it out in a day or so...

Thanks!

I would harbour a guess it is more likely to absorbed by fresh carbon in a day or two rather than skimmed out.

all the dead bugs and pods and ... might be releasing toxins, so I rather remove them by water change, but as Jroovers mentioned, GAC will take care of it fairly fast, or are you planning on skipping on renewing GAC as well ?

I have some questions in regards to treatment. I am sorry and I am not trying to hi jack the thread, I just need to clear things up. I am looking to treat a 60g tank total volume with interceptor. I have the large pills 51-100 dogs. How much of the pill am I going to need. (25mg of active ingredient melbemycin oxime per 10g, or 25mg of the whole pill per 10g) Could anyone do calculations for me? Thanks in advance.
