Redbugs

In Memoriam
I ended up with a case of bugs a few months back, i always used the same store for my corals, as did a few of my friends.
So i went into Clayton Pet Emporium last week and checked the tank, Sure enough every smooth skinned acro in there had bugs easily visible. I told them about it and they told me they know they are there, redbugs are from the ocean......
I know we all have used this store, im posting this so you know and you can check your tank if you have bought anything there within the last few months. There is only one way to beat the pests and thats to be proactive.

This is not new. I remember hearing this about Clayton probably over a year ago. Best approach is to quarantine all corals going into our tanks. When I re-did my 10g, I built it with flow and lighting in mind so that I could use it as an SPS observation tank for new incoming frags. This is where all my frags from the swap went. Redbugs aren't nearly the devil spawn that AEFW's are, so you want to watch for both. Quarantine, observation, and if need be, treatment, are the key things irregardless of which store or individual you got something from.

Any issues you've seen on your frag swap corals? I don't want to know who gave them to you to get them in trouble. Just curious if you have any problems.

I brought home three SPS frags from the swap and have not noted any pest issues on any of them. I check them every couple of days under good lighting with a big magnifying glass. Will probably be transferring them to the big tank sometime in the next week.
