Red's Food?

So, I've been wanted to try Rod's Food for a while so I went on his website and found that Sea Schor is a vendor. I went down there yesterday only to find that they didn't have and Rod's Food, they have Red's Food. They told me that they actually prefer the Red's Food. It looked kind of cheesy, in a zip lock bag with an ink jet printed label on it. The ingredient list looked almost the same as Rods so I picked up a half size for $10. My fish seemed to like it and I did get a feeding response from my LPS. Has anyone else used it? Is it just a knock off of Rods or am I missing out on something that is in Rods?

Red's Food - Made by Sullyman on here. I got some at ShoTank a long time ago. It's o.k, similar to Rods.

I also have some Rods food, next time I see you I'll give you some to try.

Was the Red brand cheaper than Rod's ?? if ingredients are same ... I just bought Rod's for almost $18 just yesterday.

My fish & corals liked Red's food. It's just that even hours after having my skimmer off, it still went nuts after turning it on again.

I would go with rods, i dont care if they have similar ingredients, it can not compare to the quality of rod's food, pay the extra couple bucks for the better food.

Haha...I thought it was a typo. I'll keep an eye out for Rad's and Rid's food. But serious, is it cheaper than Rod's food?

Sullys food is more food for corals and imo rods is geared more towards fish than corals. Don't get me wrong I use both but ther seems to be bigger chunks of stuff in rods food which only a fish could eat. Both are good food. Sea schor is just shady all together. Jmo.

Well if you actually knew the ingredients of Rod's food you would realize that not only does it feed the fish well, there is plenty of food in there for all corals. Knowing how it's made since I have assisted a time or two, your corals will surely not starve on Rod's food. 7 types of Golden Pearls, Oyster Eggs, to name a few ingredients. I wonder why it's called a "Complete Reef Food"

Sometimes it's best to educate yourself before typing on a computer screen.

The old bait and switch, seems pretty shady to me!
Agreed! Go with the Rod's Food!

Easy there poppy- I can read and I do know what the ingredients are. Maybe you should just relax a little bit and let people give their own opinion instead of posting smart *** remarks? Have you seen the way red food is prepared.... maybe YOU should get both sides of the story before you just start typing on a computer screen. Im not sure what I said that was so bad but my opinions were in no way disrespectful so im not sure why your comment was. I was just saying that there are bigger chunks of "stuff" in rods food.
Puffer-im sure some bigger lps can eat those chunks but I think some smaller lps would have a bit of a problem like micros etc..

Don't take this the wrong way people I use both foods I was just saying those are my opinions. ;)

I've used both Red's and Rod's. I agree with jsk, Rod's is a little chunkier. I think they both need more large chunks. I mix some mysis or brine shrimp with them both to get the consistency I like. Stretches the food too.

They are both good foods but you get more Reds for less money.

I think Sea Schor is a fine store, I'm pretty sure they carry both foods, to cater to their customers.
