redtop's Ferduino controller

I'm not a night owl I just don't get more than 3 hours sleep in a row so I'm up at night a lot

Anyway I was thinking of putting this build in a 10x8x4 plastic box then mount it to the inside of the cabinet door

the screen will fit if you turn it the right way, getting everything else in there might be tight but I think you can do it

I'm thinking I'll build mine into a box that will fit between the wall studs and whenever I get my fish room built on, the controller will go in the wall beside my big tank so that only the touch screen is visible in my living room, at least that is the plan right now but it is subject to change at any moment LOL

the guy on flebay trade spotting that sells all the saismart stuff has blocked me from bidding on his stuff.
Sorry, the seller is not accepting bids or offers from you at this time
I asked him to point out exactly where is the flash chip soldered on the back of the 7" screen that holds the 64mb of fonts and numbers and in all the different sizes and now I am banned from bidding and he will not answer me

I got both of mine from Amazon, I don't mind buying from FleaBay but I don't care much for the bidding on an item thing, I'd rather know I have the item headed my way than to wonder if I'm gonna win the bid or not...the bidding could be a good way to save a lot of cash though :)

Im gonna read all 32 pages tomorrow but how does this differ from jarduino? Any chance most of the parts are the same. I have everything to build jarduino like a year ago then life got in the way.

other than the LED control system and fan control system, there's very little like the Jarduino, some of the LED pin outs are the same but that's about it, different screen too, the Jarduino uses the 3.2S-240 x 320 resolution, where the Ferduino uses the 3.2WD-240 x 400 resolution

the Ferduino code will load on to the 3.2S screen but all the buttons on the right side of the screen are missing and there's no way to navigate the program without those

if you have all the other stuff for the Jarduino, it will work, the screen shield and RTC are the same with both as are any proto shields you may have, and the Mega of course

you would only need to purchase the 3.2WD screen.....unless you wanna go with the 7 inch screen, which I highly recommend :D

hi cmantis welcome to the build I remember you from the Jarduino forums did you ever get your working? you should be able to use every thing you have now I would invest is the wide screen just to make life easy and if you have extra cash go for the 5 or 7 inch screen I placed my order last night for a 7

PufferGhoti you building one of these also or doing a Jarduino version

I have a jarduino built already and this code on a 3.2WD running so looking at what led combo's to put together, ditched the MH's for cost reasons.I have 5 saltwater tanks to automate so its ongoing process. ordered a 7inch screen but thats from china and will take a while...

The aim is 2 reef tanks that are sturdy, preferable web output. the rest are FOWLR systems with refugiums but reef ready. (all 90gallon +)

sounds cool I had the same problem at one time had way to many tanks all different sizes and kinds so I just consolidated every thing in to 2 180's and a 150 now one of the 180 is fresh water for Discus

Willie once my new screen comes in I should be able to load your sketch right on to it right?

the 6 float sensor's you have them drawing power from the arduino I believe.

your plug bar you mad do you use that to control pumps, skimmer, power heads etc... where does the relay bar get its power from ? Does external power to the relay board come from the pin group where the JCC ND and VCC pins are Mine has a jumper on it or does get power from the arduino

I think I am going to try to run as much from external power as I can I am hoping that is why you cant run your screen off a ribbon cable is you have run out of power.

any plans on what to use for EC probe with the Atlas stamp if not wanting to buy there probe.

anyone please feel free to answer these

it should load right up for you

the relays in mine get their power from the built in usb charger in my power strip, and yes, my float switches are powered from the Arduino or should be, I don't have any or 'em connected yet :)

I purchased the pH stamp but still don't have it connected, I'm still debating on all the stamps as to what I will add, hopefully everything soon but I still don't know just yet what I'll do, I don't have a calcium reactor so I don't really need that pH stamp just yet, whatever I add will be all Atlas Scientific I think though

I've been busy messing with the text placement and color, I've finally decided on what I'll keep for my home screen, I also added the forum url to the lower right hand corner just 'cause I think it looks awesome :D

how did you get the forum put on the bottom right corner and I guess I haven't seen wiring diagrams yet for this build

adding the text and changing text color for the home screen is done in the Inicio tab in the ferduino code, I just moved a few things around and made room for the forum url...

I don't have a specific wiring diagram, I just go by the pins as to what to connect where, there's a few circuits that Fernando used that have to be built to use all the functions, all the circuitry info you'll need are on the Ferduino web site, I'm still trying to figure it all out myself LOL

I finally got a new 7" screen on the way should be here in just a few weeks now I need a box to put it in anyone have some thing
