reducing flow of tunze 6000

I currently have a tunze 6000 on my 90 tank without a controller. The pump is dialed all the way down, but still too strong.

If I add a controller to the pump, can I use it to create a wave patern that is less flow than the 6000 without a controller set to the minimum?

No. I use a 6000 in a 75. I really doubt it is too much flow. What is the problem that makes you think it is too much? It would be possible to use a 6060 propeller to further reduce flow but it really should be perfect as is, even at full speed.

It is making mounds in my fine sand bed and my ricrodea seems to be blown around by my tunze stream. Also my RBTA is always trying to find low flow areas.

It just seems like all of my corals are being blown around too much. I could be wrong though, I've never had a high flow tank until now.

I've got my tunze aimed at a wall so that it is not as strong. I have a 6" DSB

I use a 6000 in my 100g, and I use the 7091 controller to reduce flow. Seems to work for me that way. Is there any drawback of doing that to the pump?

I have ricordia in my tank but they are right by the pump so they kind of are shadowed, the RBTA I have is about 6" in front of the pump, 4" back from it. He seems to like, he chose that area anyway. My tank is bare bottom and sand beds especially younger ones may pose a problem but I think if you work with placement it will work.
