Reef 260 Build

Thanks Hoping it all comes together soon.
Doing little bits & pieces in evenings and on weekends
makes for a slow build.

Nothing like good cabinetry work to make an in-wall aquarium look great.

Unfortunately, in-walls aren't a good idea in california given our earthquakes (so I've been told) and one cannot walk around his tank if he wanted.

How do you plan on cleaning the tank? Standing on a stool?

Yes I have to stand a s small step ladder to clean the tank. I also have access from the back with my new build. My previous tank which was in the same place but less than half the size had no back access.

I'll post more photos soon. I now have live rock, sand, and saltwater in it.

Light Box attempt #2

Light Box attempt #2

My second attempt at my light box.
Added 8 T5's in addition to my Hydra 52's
Also finally got my light lift to work. One cable in
center was just never going to balance and lift such a big
box up so I added a second cable and some pulleys in the
attic to my light winch. Works perfect now.

Thanks. I'm really enjoying all of this and learning a lot as I go.
My fish room is actually my garage which is around 28 x 28.
All of the equipment is on my wife's side of the garage. She has
offered to park on the other end of the house. (3 car garage on other end of house)
I may end up taking her up on that if I keep adding stuff to this build.

Nice! I am trying to get half of our 2 car garage when I set my 265 back up. I continue to take notes from your build.

Adding cleanup crew then will wait 30 days to start putting my fish
that are in quarantine into tank. Hopefully this will prevent any ick
that might be on cleanup crew from surviving and getting on fish.

Filter modifications

Filter modifications

Did away with both Rollermats. I just wasn't happy with water
flow and the system would not start back up at all after a power
failure. Back to filter socks. I should have just went this way to begin
with and saved a lot of time and money.

Also have doors up on back now and back of tank covered.
