Hi Scuba
[welcome]
Rays are not a good choice for the beginner. They require very large tanks as most SW types grow to be 3 foot or more in width. The smaller, under a foot, California Stingray, Urobatis halleri, is sometimes offered in the trade but is very difficult to keep. It needs a tank of over a hundred gallons and it must have ample swimming room as rays, like sharks, must swim to draw oxygenated water over the gill structure. They are also aggressive and cannot be maintained in a community tank.
