Reef Aquarium 1350 gallons in Bucharest

Perhaps you have commented on this already so I apologize if this has been covered already, but it appears that the Tunzes are almost cemented in place in the rockwork. It looks great but am curious how you plan to remove them when they need to be cleaned? Are the cords somehow tucked behind the rockwork? I also must say the backlight effect looks realistic as well. Must say again your detail to the aquascape is second to none!

i was wondering if you answered this as well. (if you didnt cement the cords, you sure made them disappear!!

Yes, there's some water in the tank finally! Love the look of that backlight section and Congrats on some fancy Tunze powercord hiding!!!

You have knocked it out the park with your aquascaping. It seems like the fish with have no problem accepting their new home.

Tom, thank you very much for compliments!

That's a very creative and original idea you have with the backlit "opening" in the reef. I think the effect will work with the main lighting on if you use a more blue light or use opaque/translucent blue plastic to make it look blue. The dawn & dusk effect will be the most significant. Great work!

How did you hide the Tunze cords... and don't tell me they are new wireless models

Shawn you are right about the backlight, I was going to make more tests soon as I fill the tank. I will try different materials.
Always appreciate! Thanks!

Ohh... I'm sorry I forgot to tell you about the new Tunze wireless pumps :o

.....just kidding :D

I left channels on the back of the background when I made the rock panels. So if I want to take one out I just pull the pump out and the cable follows.

that looks like a small channel.... i hope you tie a rope on the cord for when you pull the pumps out, you just have to tie the cord back on the pump and pull it through... i dont see you being very successful with a coathanger and trying to fish them back through... but you may have more room then we can tell by the pictures.

but they sure look sweet!! (hidden cords is a fantastic idea. especially if you know where your going ot put them initially!! )
i think it should be tank of the month for that concept in its self.

Has anyone else tried the backlit design... I was thinking to do that on mine.... Create a box of acrylic and put lights in it and scrape some of the black paint I have on the back wall... Attach the box behind it and all the light will penetrate through the back glass...

Andy was this your design or did u see it somewhere else....

The tank looks good.

Here's a pretty popular one from the forum:

I played with the cables before the water and they worked good in those channels.
Thank you very much for appreciation.

I have seen it at freshwater tanks and I said why not use it here too.

Thanks,

Andy
