Reef Bommie

Nice and clean yano. Your corals look like they're about to take off with all the encrusting they've done. I'm really liking this new aquascape.

Yano,

Your tank is coming along really nicely. Keep up the good work.

Thanks!

Apogons... But too predictable... Damsels? Or a giant school of blue green chromis will do too...

Looking good!

Chromis IMO, or Blue Eyed Cardinalfish, but for every 5 I buy 3 die.

I am aware of the difficulty but want to try a shoal of Apogons...blue green chromis are other option.

Love the ruby dragonets, thinking about getting some, they have them at my LFS. So are you feeding them pods at all? What are they eating for you.

Awesome details keep them coming thanks for posting I enjoy reading this thread!

Thanks.

For now only they eat what they themselves hunted by the rock .I have recently started to edit some phytoplankton to increase microfauna aquarium.

Yano, your tank is due for a 6 month update soon I think. I look forward to a new video.

Meanwhile I have some questions:

In this photo we can see some bottles of elements. We can see Iron, Iodine, and I think B-Balance from KZ.

1. What is your dosage of KZ B-Balance? Why do you dose it/what effect does it have?

2. What else do you dose?

3. What brand of GAC (Carbon) do you run in the carbon reactor?

Lastly, how do you judge fish stock/fish feeding to nutrient balance in favour of SPS colours? - I ask because you achieve SPS colours that rivals Zeovit and other ULNS systems, but you only utilise GAC as the only filtration besides a modest skimmer. I really admire your methodology.

Hi Sahin

For personal reasons I had the aquarium very neglected in recent months, in fact even I've been thinking unmount ... in the coming months I will decide if I can cope maintenance dedicating the necessary time or dismount.
However, I will answer your questions (and I appreciate your interest):

-1 and 2. In this aquarium I've only regularly dosed iodine (20-25 drops three times a week) ... the rest of products that you see in the picture I have of my previous the aquarium but I've used just have not found it necessary (iron I dosed only in sufficiently mature and very low nutrient levels aquariums, and B-Balance in case you want to slightly lighten the color in the same case).
-3. I use Carbonit-P of Brightwell.
-About your last question, the colors of corals depend on the level of nutrients dissolved in water, zeovit and other probiotics methods are just methods that reduce nutrient loads in aquariums with high fish ... aquariums with low fish load, you can get the same nutrient level (and therefore the same colors) simplest form as in my case.

Aww man, sorry to hear you have too much going on to deal with the tank. I am sure everyone else would say the same as me, just ride it out! :) I was hoping to see this tank grow out some. I love your choice of acropora especially the monticulosa and other thick reef crest type acros. Good luck! I lost everything I had last year due to personal reasons and couldn't find time to deal with the tank. I restocked it so I am glad I kept it running in the end.

Thank you for the info Yano. I'm really sorry about your tank. I hope you will be able to keep it going.

Yano, one month on since your last message I'm just wondering how the tank is goin and if you decided yet wether you can keep the reef going for not. In hope of hearing some good news you are keeping your reef going and some pictures.

Regards

Daniel

At the moment I still maintain, in the next months to decide ... in any case, I will make some pictures to share with you even if I decide unmount.
Thanks

At the moment I still maintain the aquarium ... I do not put date for how long, but so far the "Reef Bommie" project goes ahead.
