Reef Brite LED's - Now Taking Orders!

mcclandy - If you were going to use these as a stand alone lighting solution, on an all sps tank I personally wouldn't reccomend it for anything deeper than 20". However, if it's just for supplementation purposes only, then up to 30" depth would be just fine.

connecticut chichlids - I agree with Strategic Reef that the price difference is so minimal that I would just get the full length unit.

The width of these modules are 1 7/8".

When will these be in stock?
Thinking on the 2 you mentioned. Can these be set to dim at diff times?

We have already received one shipment, however some models have sold out already. Which ones are you looking for in particular?

Whats the power supply like on these units? Are they 110v only? or are they able to take 220v? (for us international people)

I just received a 36" unit and installed it over my tank and all I can say is "WOW"!

I have this unit along side 3 48" VHO actinics and I prefer the look of the LED unit alone (with the VHO's off). So I plan to just remove the VHO's and replace with another Reefbrite.

In my opinion, the LED's make the reds, yellow and greens pop while muting the blues (although that wasn't intuitive to me).

There isn't an apparent connector on the unit to daisy chain them.

Also, the power supply unit is in the pics above (with the red LED numbers on it).

Do you guys think that 2 of the 36in models could light a 72in x 30in x 18in tank as the main lighting source?

Here are some more photos for you guys that show the power supply a bit better......

Has anyone run these on a Kill-A-Watt to figure out an equivalent wattage rating? I'd bet a lot less than the same length T5... If they can put out about double the PAR of a Blue Plus, I'd be curious to see how much I could reduce my power consumption by replacing two Blue Plus with one of these.

Jeremy, your website said one is equal 2 ATI light bulb . What is the comparison ? what 6 LED = ?? ATI watt? how many watt for 1 LED ?

The picture show the Blue color is look like VHO light (purple look). Is it true ?

I am searching to add shimmer look for my T5 set up. Thanks

Daniel,

It would be length for length in comparison to the ATI. If you're comparing the 48" ATI Blue Plus, and the 48" Reef Brite, count on the Reef Brite being right around double the par of the Blue Plus lamp.

The blue is not quite a 460nm blue in my opinion, but it's not purple / blue like the vho Super Actinic either. I would say it's around 445 - 450 if I had to put a guess to it.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy for clear up.
One more question. Do you think it will add shimmer look along with HO T5 6-8 bulbs?
