Has anyone used Mac Weiss' reef Bugs to feed their LPS Corals? A good friend of mine and fellow reefer talked to me about them and I did some reading, they seem to work from what I read but would like to here from some one from RC let me know if you guys have used them and what you thought.

Thanks

Here's a quote from Eric B.

I don't see anything here that would not normally be present in the tank with corals, fish and invertebrates shedding mucus. Also, the notion of bacteria or other microbes not effectively using up all nutrients in a small bottle at room temp is essentially impossible unless somehow in stasis or preserved, in which case once you added it, it will be consumed or removed by export almost immediately. I don't know what is in the product, and do not see that it would or could contain anything required or practically advantegeous for tanks.

FWIW - it falls under the category of "things I would not take for free"

question to Ron -Also if you believe this product would provide a useful food source/potential beneficial breeding population.

Rons answer

In a sterile tank it might worth it. I don't know if any well-setup sand bed would benefit from it, I don't think I would spend my money on it.
