Reef Clubs in Fort Wayne, IN

my plans for the first meeting is more or less just a meet and greet. I would like to get everyones info to set up another meeting in Feb. hopefully at someones house. I would like to try to maybe have the first house meeting at my house, but I only have a 29g reef that is still in the works. But I will have it if I have to.

At least there people can exchange buy/sell/ or hopefully trade frags of their corals and we can start a cool network of reefers in the community.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I am just shooting from the hip here and not real sure on how to set the first one up.

Thanks
Phil

Alright here is what I am thinking, good or bad i am not sure yet lol...

I would like to meet either on the Jan. 26th or maybe the evening of the 29th.

I the more feedback I hear about either one of these dates is the one that I will go with

The 29th works best for me this month, but i can make the Saturday the 26th work as well. Any thoughts about meeting spot? I like a place where I can at least get a beer.

I don't see much coral getting traded this time at all, but we could all meet each other and then decide on a meeting and agenda for the next month. It would be nice to be able to start setting up some group buys and things of that nature as well.

Don't know if I can make any specific meeting but I can get tons of Mississippi Lime on the cheap.

My vote is for the 26th, but can do the 29th too.

What about meeting at one of the Buffalo Wild Wings? There is one on the Northeast side and one on the Southwest side.

It is kalkwasser. You use it for dosing to raise pH and alkalinity. It's the same stuff that LFS sell for $10-$30/lb. I can get it on the cheap for $0.50/lb. SAME EXACT CHEMICAL.

Saturday the 26th works best for me. I am usually bushed in the evenings.....after work....And at BW3 on the northeast side the one out at 37 and 469 or Dupont work good......either one would be great! I could maybe host a meeting later on when the weather is better .....my only problem is my 3 dogs if the weather is good I can put them outside....

alright, now we have something going

We will all meet at Buffalo Wild Wings on Dupont on Saturday the 26th. I will call tomorrow to see if I can reserve some seating for everyone. I will try to get it set up for 2 in the afternoon. I will post something tonight to let everyone know for sure.

I hope all can attend. If you know anyone else not on the site that might be intrested please let them know. The more people we can get the better we will be.

I would love to get involved in this. However, you all seem way more experienced than I am! LOL! I have not set up a saltwater tank yet, I only have freshwater. I would love some to help me get one set up! I don't even know where to begin.

hello all

I called out to BWW today and they do not take reservations of any sort. The nazi bast@rds. LOL...

Thats still cool with me. If we all plan to meet out there at 2 on the 26th I am sure we can find room. I am going to try to get there early and see if I can get a space for roughly 20 people.

Also I am going to have a sign in sheet that if everyone could please sign that would help get a club roster started. Just simple name, email, and maybe phone # and/ or forum name so we can recognize one another on the sites.

If anyone has any other suggestions I am all ears.

I have only been in the hobby of salt for about 1 1/2 years and only doing reef for a year. It is amazing what you can learn from just talking to others in person.

I wish I lived closer! I live in Rochester (60 miles west of Fort Wayne) and would like to find some guys I could trade with occasionally. That is cool you guys are starting up this new club. Awesome networking opportunity. Congrats and good luck!
