Reef Clubs in other cities

I'm also a little weirded out like wooglin is on the two threads he mentions. I'm also a little freaked out that a few posts have been deleted, altered, and edited by a moderator... but I guess thats his business. I know of at least 2 posts that were deleted from the because I just read them and when I went back... they were gone. I'm also a little concerned that this forum is currently our only line of communication within the club. Selectively prohibiting topics is an unfortunate reality that is happening. I do understand the need for control though. Thats all I'm going to say about that.
Anyway, its sad to see Angela taking a break and/or leaving. Mine and her private conversation went estranged for sure. I regret that I misinterpreted some of her messages. However since its still on my mind and need to get it off my chest, I think if the items had just bought everything outright like what ended up happening... everything would have been fine. The problem came into play when private conversation between people interested in the items started happening instead of people interested and the seller directly. The selling process failed due to this. Side deals of a deal that isn't complete never work. Its kind of like investing in something else before you've made good on a previous investment. In other words... the deals behind the scenes were premature. Anyway, I do hope Angela comes back and continues to do good things with and for the club.
I'm done talking about this now (thank goodness right?). Its time for everyone to get happy!
I probably should have read the user agreement in full before posting this. Hopefully I'm not in violation.

First of all doing a Group Order, like it was mentioned already, it saves a lot of money for everyone. I personally still support the LFS as I have spent thousands at Critters, Chris could tell you that. IF you don't like it, then don't read it. It's up to each individual on what they would like to do and you should respect each individual for their own will. I'm very disappointed on what was said in my posting as each individual should keep their comments to themselves. IF you have something bad to say with cruel intentions, you should leave it in PM. As I am like Angela, I just blurt them out, but not meaning any harm as I have done in the past. Everyone is here to learn and gather information yes, that's exactly what I'm doing this group order for. As some of you may know that I've been battling with bryopsis for quite sometime and that's why I'm ordering quite a bit of snails from these sites, I could just order them by myself, but I thought some others may need them as well as some members have asked me if they could join me in the order. I was going to post my findings if anything do happen with the bryopsis, but some of you went ahead and assume things on your own. I have personally asked JP to visit our forum so he could see that I am serious about the order as I have personally asked him if we're able to keep the group order pricing that went out last month. Unfortunelly, because of the incident, he's not wanting to do business with the group right now. I've been thinking about the incidents that's been happening lately and haven't said too much about it. I still not going to say much about the whole incident either as it irritates me. To sum it all up, IF you have nothing else better to say, then keep it to yourself. Think twice before you speak as many of us would appreciate you for not dragging the rest of us into it. Let's all keep this a peaceful forum and not dramatize every situation. Peace Out! :smokin:

Hay Michael I agree with you as I have seen people in this forum and others that always blast group orders and selling things because of a few incidents that are not the norm. I have been part of a lot of group buys on this forum and think it is a tremendous chance for some people to be able to get things they want where they wouldn't be able to due to cost our availability. As most of you all know I have brought tons of rock in the past and always offered it to people for what I paid. Now that was my choice smart or not we wont get into as I know I ended up with the stuff people didn't want and also due to my liberal weighing ended up with less rock. But I really didn't care as I knew that a lot of people ended up getting some nice pieces that would have been harder due to having small tanks. With the size of my tanks I normally get all the discounts and group prices so when I post group orders up it is to let others have a chance to save money so when they go down to the critter and see that fish that catches there eye they can impulse buy and get it. I know I have done that on many of times. I do not slam on the LFS for there prices because being an accountant I know that there is a cost to have a storefront and we should respect that I know I have had great dealings with 99% of the people here in the club and on group buys and really have not been angered by anyone in those post the only one that really got me going was the post against our club. I actually talked to the Mod Gods about that one and his comment was he was surprised as he has not had any issues with our club for a long time. That is something I think we could be proud of and should get back on track. The golden rule is if it is personal with some one it needs to stay private not on the open forum.
I know Angela has been a great asset to our club and like all of us has her self admitted faults of her memory which is not as bad as mine and I think she will forget this and all will be back to normal.

There is a big difference between "group buys", when someone is ordering from a vendor and makes a post that they are ordering from a vendor would anyone like to join in to save on shipping.
I think where trouble can arise is when members of the club contact vendors on behalf of the club to get a discount for a group buy. Really the only people that should be contacting vendors to get a discount rate for club as a group buy should be the officers or someone that has been empowered by an officer to go do a group buy.
In other words what I am saying is if you are going to do a group buy where you are contacting the vendor to get a discount and using MTRC to get the discount then you should work thru the officers first (just because you are a member of the club does not really give you the authority to use the club as a negotiating factor), then post the group buy with the blessing of the officers.

I just scanned the first few posts of this ( gotta cut my RC time remember ) If I am the long time member aleinated I want to say Kalied and myself have appologized Via email and all is water under the bridge with us. I was a emotional basket case that day as apperant by my ranting in public :lol: I just wanted that thread to die and you brought it back up Woggy 
I have told many the true reason via PM why I am bowing out from so much activity is I feel like God has impressed upon me the computer was taking up way to much of my time. I truely feel like all the dramma was Gods divine plan to shake me up (it worked) and get my attention. I had been feeling convictecd to get off line and put my time where it mattered but had a very hard time breaking the addiction to "just go see" whats going on in the forum. It was my outlet in a way I guess and the PC is very addictive.
The whole tank buy last weekend was a disaster from the get go with the compleat day shot and it went downhill from there. I just got my money back last night and can finnally go grocery shopping now. I got a little back Monday but it was gone in 1 trip to Sams club :lol:. I get myself into this type of mess way to easy so if I just ecuse myself from the temptation of the hobby I will less likely have stress to deal with like I have had this weekend.
And anyone selling out a tank, I can tell you from 1st hand experience now, its A super pain to break it up!! I totally see how people take a loss to not get $20-$50 pop of money to just make a few hundred more in the end. I have spent way to much time with that tank sell off its not even funny! I would have been much better off just buying new VHO's and rock, the main 2 things I wanted from the tank :lol:.
I love all you guys and I am sure the reef club will prosper. It is full of wonderfull people who love the hobby. I am still gonna get on from time to time and hit a few close meetings but try to not spend hours every morning on here like in the past. This club is also a awsome way to make freinds when you are new to a area!

IF we need an officer to do it, are they able to do it when we need the stuff? And are they able to work through our work schedule to do something like this? I'm doing it because I was going to take a whole day off and people can come at anytime through out the day to pick up their orders as everyone have different work schedules. From talking with some of the members who had to drop out on the last group order including me. It's almost impossible to pick up at a scheduled time. IF your able to schedule a time ahead and through different time schedule through out the day, it would work a lot better. The vendor I was working with was doing a group discount, but still charges shipping and they do not need the name MTRC to do a group order. I'm doing it for the benefit of our group as I do not need to do a group order to save on anything. I'm only doing this as a favor for everyone who needs something and I do not need someone to think what I did was right or wrong. I do not feel it is any of your business to post what others do is right or wrong. Like I have said before in my previous posting, IF you have nothing better to say, it's best to keep it to yourself. So please stop dramatizing everything and move on with it. I'm speaking on my behalf and others who feel the same way. I'm hoping you would just leave this as it is and move on, I would greatly appreciate it if you do. Have a nice day!
