Hey, does anyone know what the deal is with these guys? I really want a captive bred Interruptus. It says RCT will be back in 2010, but figured someone here might have some more info.

Also, if anyone is aware of anywhere else to find one of these gems, please let me know! I know they're extremely rare and expensive (understatement on both counts!).

The have been inactive for the last few months and the last news that I had are that they are preparing to come back in 2010. Not sure if they will have interruptus though...

Thanks Luiz. Any other ideas of how to locate this fish? I am particularly drawn to the captive bred based on everything the website says (less sensitive to temperature, better adapted to a captive diet, etc).

Also, any idea what these guys sold for back when they raised them before?

Thanks so much for all of your help. Love seeing your photography and interesting comments on here!

Wild ones sold for about $1700 last time I saw them in the market, and the tank-raised ones sold for around $500 if I am not mistaken, but I think they sold very few.

I wonder what they'll be breeding next? Do you know, Luiz?

Personally, I'm holding out for C. narcosis :D

Skibum, you can check with Austin Aqua Farms, they get interruptus periodically, but for these fish it's always a waiting game. The one I got from him came in eating right away!

Skibum, here's my favorite photo of him:

RCT has been inactive for more than 1 yr. Frank Baensch moved, relocated and supposedly has set back up again. I too have heard a 2010 start-but not sure what that means.

Chris,

I had a few questions. What do you have the Interruptus eating? Also, how does it do with corals, and what temperature do you keep your tank at? These are the main concerns I have about a wild vs. captive-bred fish.

Thanks!

Copps may have some info. I believe he and Frank are "acquaintances" to say the least. If I remember correctly Frank retired several breeders to Copps...

If I remember correctly, last I heard Frank was planning his facility and was preparing to start construction, but that was a little while ago.
