reef diving honeymoon suggestions?

Wow, thats a lot of dives, I have 300 logged.
11,000 dives is a dive a day, every day 365 days a year for 30 years.
You must be pretty wrinkled.

This was just on a shoredive in Cozumel....

Yup lots of diving LOL I have been at it since 1966 don't dive everyday but there are days that I do dive 5-6 times per day

So your a Geezer like me. I did my first dive in Auatralia in 71 when I was on R&R from Nam.
Then I got a boat and also dove twice a day. But of course only in the summer.
NY winters do not make for fun diving and I could never afford to go to the tropics more than once a year.
Take care and keep diving.

It depends on how much you want to spend. If money is no object, I would recommend a cruise on Star Clippers:

http://www.starclippers.com/index_en.html

It is a romantic (good for the honeymoon) ship , going under sail, unlike your standard cruise line. It is much more laid back that a typical cruise, and lacks all the "vegas glamour", which we found nice when we went.

Best of all, there is a dive shop in the stern of the ship, where a platform folds down from the back of the ship. From this platform, they launch the zodiac(s) to take a nice dive right outta the ship you are sailing on.

The nice thing about this is that they take you to many destinations around the carribean, and there is a ton of variety of things to see ranging from great shallow reefs, to 130 ft deep wrecks, or nice sandy bottoms.

My second vote would be to go out of Boynton Beach, Fl. They offer some really nice drift dives over some great reefs. I would personally take Boynton over the Keys any day, although once in that area you could take a drive down to the Keys for some variety.

Oh, about renting the camera. You may want to wait on that, it is kinda difficult to get your bouyancy down right away and then adding one more task of taking photos may be too much. Ask around the dive op sometimes they have a photographer that will go out with the group and take group pictures and then sell you the DVD (then you can be in the photos or DVD).

thanks, good advice

if your fiance said she wants to go on a european vacation to see castles you better go see the castles otherwise your marrige will be ruined from day one. She will never let you forget that she wanted to go see the castles. forget a diving trip, trust me, she wont forget and bring it up everytime you get into a fight.

*sigh*

I have logged 11,000 dives in lots of places ...

I don't even have 1000 posts on this site and you have 11K dives... I will try to go again and may try one of those places.

We have booked our open water training at Aqua Safari in Cozumel and will book our daily reef dives after we finish the first 2 days. I would like to go cavern diving one of the days (ferry to Cancun). Another month or so, I can't wait.
