Hi Folks, Unfortunatly I have to sell my reef due to lack of funds.
I'd prefer selling it to a MARS member or someone you guys know that is serious about the responsibility of maintaining a reef. In other words, it needs to go to a good home.
It's a 180 Gallon Oceanic with stand and dual overflows, 50 gallon sump/refugium with a deep sand bed. I set up the overflows so three of the holes feed the sump and one goes to the refugium The refug. then overflows to the sump. the main pump, a Mag Drive 1800 gph, then sends the water up the back of the tank and to the outlets behind the rock this helps water flow back there.
The rock is situated on PVC stands that are practically invisible. It's a well engineered system and has been very healthy the 5 or so years I've been running it. There's a Corralin calcium reactor, Berlin skimmer powered by a pondmaster 700 gph pump and two Icecap ballasts powering six 5' VHOs In a custom made light fixture. I think they're 140 watts each. The ballasts are in the top half of the light fixture which is cooled by pusher and puller fans in the ends.
There's a lighting fixture in the base for maintenence and the entire lighting, including refugium, is controlled by X-10 modules and a controller. I'll also include all the accessories for maintaining it except for the D.I. bottle that I rent from culligan.
The corals are soft except the cup that is doing well. The tank's a little overgrown so I may crop and give away or trade some frags.
I'm selling the entire system for 5K o.b.o. I'll help whomever buys it with the move and setup. You provide a few strong backs and some Rubbermaid containers for transport of the critters. I can provide more pictures and info if you're interested. Please no requests to part it out I want to sell the whole thing lock, stock, and barrel. It's easily worth well over three times the asking price.
